Ortiz was born in Huntington Beach and moved to Santa Ana, California. Ortiz, who is half Mexican descent from his paternal family is half Mexican. His father was Sam Ortiz and he gave the name Tito. He was a troubled child because both of his parents were addicted to heroin. He was involved in bands. He also used cocaine and other drugs. When he was a child the teen was taken to juvenile detention. His parents divorced at the age of 13 years old. He attended Huntington Beach High School, where he would wrestle.
